My first "original composition" in that I studied the shape of the flowers and leaves and then painted a made-up arrangement, rather than painting from a photograph or still-life. This is also my first painting completely absent of any preparatory pencil markings.

This watercolor was painted from a photograph of a courtyard I walk through nearly everyday on my way to class at MIT. Even though I was probably running late, I'm glad that I stopped to take a photograph of the beautiful autumn leaves so I could paint them later.
